Bay Area Pitching Lessons

Offering pitching lessons in the Bay Area for baseball players wanting to improve their skills in pitching or wanting to become a pitcher

Bay Area, California (San Jose, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Mountain View, Alameda, Fremont, Palo Alto, etc.)

About Me: Mike Compton

Former D1 starting pitcher for the Florida State Seminoles (’12-’16), pitched in the 2012 College World Series. My goal is to help pitchers prepare for the high school and collegiate level by becoming their own coach.

Each pitcher is at a different stage in their baseball career. No pitcher is the same. My goal is not to change a pitcher but to help him understand how to enhance his strengths and improve upon his weaknesses. In my opinion, “Feel” and “Confidence” are the most important aspects when it comes to pitching. Can you as a pitcher “feel” the difference between a good pitch and a bad pitch? Can you repeat the good pitches over and over again? This is accomplished through sound mechanics and repetitions.

During the hour session we will:
– Review the previous session’s learnings
– Discuss what’s been working, what hasn’t been working, focus areas
– Proper warm up (arm care routine)
– Drills isolating specific mechanics for all pitches
– If time permits, work off the mound in windup and stretch positions
